ISAF medics treat locals, discover weapons cache

KABUL, Afghanistan – ISAF troops treated locals in Strobe District, Kabul Province, as part of a medical assistance visit Wednesday.

During their visit to provide treatment to locals, Regional Command Capital’s Italian Battle group received reports about a weapons cache in the area.

Troops found the reported cache which contained hand grenades, sub ammunitions and 90 kilograms of marijuana.

Afghan National Police immediately responded to the report to retain and destroy the recovered drugs.

"The lasting and frequent military operations in close coordination with local elders and district governors are finally producing the desired effects, confidence in ISAF," said an ISAF spokesperson. "We have found more than 20 ammunitions caches during the last month."
