ISAF soldier dies of wounds in foot patrol explosion

KABUL, Afghanistan – An ISAF soldier died from injuries sustained in an explosion during a joint ISAF and Afghan National Security Forces foot patrol in Zangabad region, Panjwayi District Sunday, 17 March 2008. 

“We offer our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the soldier who died while working to bring peace and stability to Afghanistan,” said Lieutenant Colonel Sarto LeBlanc, Regional Command South spokesperson. “We have lost a valuable member of our team and this loss will be felt across ISAF.”

In accordance with ISAF policy, ISAF does not release the casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
