ISAF soldiers providing humanitarian aid discover weapon caches

KABUL, Afghanistan – ISAF soldiers provided food and supplies to Surobi District locals during a humanitarian aid mission conducted last week.

During their visit to provide blankets, food and charcoal to the area, Regional Command Capital’s (RC-Capital) Italian soldiers received reports about two separate locations containing weapons.

Soldiers found the two reported weapon caches in Surobi District.

Italian troops discovered and subsequently disposed of 23 mortar bombs as well as a number of other bombs, seven rockets and a mass of small arms ammunition from the two locations.

ISAF’s RC-Capital troops have been and will continue to be engaged in security and assistance activities throughout the remote areas of Kabul in support of the Afghan people.
