ISAF soldier killed, one wounded in southern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan – An ISAF soldier was killed and one was injured in an explosion during a patrol in southern Afghanistan Feb. 17.

The wounded soldier’s injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

“Our thoughts and sincere condolences are with the family and friends of the brave soldier who was killed whilst on patrol yesterday,” said Lt. Col. Sarto Leblanc, Regional Command South spokesperson. “This soldier’s life was taken while trying to bring peace and security to Afghanistan.”

In accordance with ISAF policy, ISAF does not release the casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
