Mazar-e-Sharif PRT medics aid nearby villages

KABUL, Afghanistan – Doctors and nurses from the Mazar-e-Sharif Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) medical staff worked intensively in the villages of Sorabi-Bain and Sorabi-Bala to provide the people there with treatment.

The team helped around 300 patients from nearby areas of both villages. About 60 percent of patients were women and children.

Varied illnesses of patients included stomach and heart problems, parasites, colds and frostbites.

Mazar-e-Sharif PRT soldiers are responsible for Balkh, Jawzjan, Samangan and Sar-e-Pol Provinces.

The PRT’s main effort is to support the Afghan government and its authorities to help ensure a safe and secure environment for reconstruction and development work in the PRT area of responsibility.
