ANP, Nuristan PRT distribute aid to local villagers

KABUL, Afghanistan – Afghan National Policemen and Nuristan Provincial Reconstruction Team soldiers distributed humanitarian aid in the villages of Lowkar, Halyar, Tupak and Nengaresh in Nurgaram District recently.

Items like gloves and coats for the children were given to help combat temperatures below freezing.

The team also handed out prayer rugs, water bottles and buckets. Some of the children received notepads, crayons, pencils, pens and puzzles while adults received radios.

This wasn’t the first time people in Nurgaram District received humanitarian aid. The PRT has an ongoing program to allow people from their area to come and receive much-needed items once a week.
