ISAF soldier killed, two wounded in southern Afghanistan explosion

KABUL, Afghanistan – An ISAF soldier was killed and two were injured in an explosion during a patrol in southern Afghanistan today.

The wounded soldiers were transported to an ISAF hospital where they are being treated.

“One can appreciate that this is a very difficult time right now and our thoughts and sincere condolences are with the family and friends of the brave soldier who was killed today,” said Wing Commander Antony McCord, Regional Command South spokesperson. “This soldier died trying to help bring peace and security for the Afghan people.”

In accordance with ISAF policy, ISAF does not release the casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
