ISAF soldier killed, one wounded in southern Afghanistan IED explosion

KABUL, Afghanistan (Jan. 15) – An ISAF soldier was killed and one was injured when their vehicle hit an improvised explosive device on patrol in southern Afghanistan today.

The wounded soldier was transported to an ISAF hospital where he is being treated.

“Our thoughts and sincere condolences are with the family and friends of the brave soldier who was killed whilst on patrol today,” said Wing Commander Antony McCord, Regional Command South spokesperson. “This soldier’s life was taken while trying to help bring peace and security to Afghanistan.”

In accordance with ISAF policy, ISAF does not release the casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
