Qala-e-Naw PRT creates, fortifies Afghan police posts

KABUL, Afghanistan (Jan. 13) – The Qala-e-Naw Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) delivered and installed equipment in Afghan National Police and border police stations and posts in Badghis recently.

Fortification equipment was delivered to Dousuri, Gulchin and Golo Jirak to create new police posts there. Qades, Muqur and Mangan police stations received reinforcement gear to strengthen defense of their facilities. All of these locations were also provided with elements that will improve the living conditions of the police members, such as a generator, water tank and modules to be used for offices or rest.

The PRT Civil-Military Cooperation (CIMIC) unit also delivered humanitarian aid items like blankets, clothes and food to the local representatives of these villages to be distributed to those in need.

The PRT has plans to continue creation and fortification of police posts along the routes to northern Murghab and Jawand to ensure stability in the area.
