ISAF soldier killed and two wounded in an explosion in southern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan – An ISAF soldier has been killed in an explosion during a patrol in southern Afghanistan.

Two other soldiers were injured as a result of the blast. Their injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

“Our thoughts and condolences go out to the family and friends of the brave soldier who was killed while on patrol today,” said Wing Commander Antony McCord, Regional Command South spokesperson. “This soldier’s life was taken while helping to bring peace and security to Afghanistan.”

In accordance with ISAF policy, ISAF does not release the casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
