Suicide attack against ISAF convoy in Kabul, 22 civilian casualties

KABUL, Afghanistan – An ISAF convoy consisting of two vehicles was attacked by a suicide car bomber in Kabul this morning.

No ISAF soldiers were injured but at least 22 local residents of Kabul were wounded during the suicide attack.

“This suicide attack is just another example of insurgent extremists recklessly endangering the local population. As we have stated before, these barbaric suicide bombings rarely cause ISAF casualties but almost always result in indiscriminate innocent civilian casualties. We feel with the families and friends of those who have been injured.” Gen Carlos Branco, the ISAF Spokesman said. “We take all possible precautions to avoid civilian casualties. However, the Taliban extremists clearly do not care about the lives of innocent civilians at all.”
