One ISAF soldier dies in an accident in southern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan – One ISAF soldier died in southern Afghanistan when the vehicle he was travelling in was involved in an accident.

Another ISAF soldier and a local national interpreter were injured in the same incident, their injuries are not life threatening. No enemy forces were involved.

“Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those who have died or been injured in this deeply regrettable incident,” said Squadron Leader Mat Best, an ISAF spokesman.

In accordance with ISAF policy, ISAF does not release the casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
