ISAF soldier killed in southern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan – An ISAF soldier has died of wounds sustained during operations in southern Afghanistan.

“It is with great sadness that we announce the death of an ISAF soldier in southern Afghanistan,” said Maj. Charles Anthony, ISAF spokesman.  “Our respectful condolences go to the family, friends and colleagues of this brave soldier who gave his life in support of ISAF’s task to enable the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to allow the people of this region to live in peace without fear of violence and intimidation.”

In accordance with ISAF policy, ISAF does not release the casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
