COMISAF condemns renewed extremist terror in Uruzgan

KABUL, Afghanistan – General Dan McNeill, Commander ISAF, expressed his condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims of yesterday’s attack in Uruzgan, and condemned the renewed act of terror there. A suicide bomber had killed 8 and wounded 4 Afghan citizens in Tarin Kowt on Oct. 17.

“We think that it’s sad the insurgent chooses of his own volition to attack non-combatants such as he did yesterday in Tarin Kowt and as he did a few days ago in Spin Boldak.  We have those people who have suffered in those attacks in our prayers.”

Injured survivors were transported to ISAF facilities for medical treatment.

Nearly 200 innocent Afghan civilians have been killed this year by suicide bombers.
