ISAF soldier killed in southern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan – One ISAF soldier was killed and four others were wounded while on patrol in southern Afghanistan Sept. 24.

“It is a sad fact that ISAF troops, and the local population, contend with the threat of mine strikes on a daily basis; the work to reduce this threat goes on,” said Major Charles Anthony, ISAF spokesman.  “ISAF extends its deepest condolences to the soldiers’ families and friends.”

In accordance with ISAF policy, ISAF does not release a casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
