One ISAF soldier killed in southern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan – One ISAF soldier has been killed after coming under fire while on patrol yesterday in southern Afghanistan.

“Southern Afghanistan continues to be a difficult and challenging environment, and we have nothing but the highest admiration for the courage and professionalism of the ISAF troops who operate here,” said Wing Commander Antony McCord, Regional Command South spokesperson. “Our thoughts are with the friends, families and colleagues of the soldier who died yesterday.”

In accordance with ISAF policy, ISAF does not release the casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
