Three ISAF soldiers killed in suicide attack

KABUL, Afghanistan – Three ISAF soldiers were killed and six wounded by a suicide bomber in eastern Afghanistan today.

ISAF forces were working on a project at a bridge construction site when a suicide bomber self-detonated instantly killing himself and two nearby soldiers earlier today.  The wounded soldiers were evacuated to a nearby ISAF facility for medical treatment, and one died enroute.

“Our thoughts during this very difficult time are with the friends, family and colleagues of the soldiers who were killed in this incident,” said Maj. Charles Anthony, ISAF spokesperson.

In accordance with ISAF policy, ISAF does not release a casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
