One ISAF soldier killed, one wounded in Southern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan – One ISAF soldier has been killed and another injured when their patrol was hit by an IED strike in Southern Afghanistan on Aug 26.

"It is a sad fact that ISAF troops, and the local population, contend with the threat of IED strikes on a daily basis; the work to reduce this threat goes on”, Lt Col Bridget Rose, a spokesperson for Regional Command South said. “Our thoughts are now with the friends and families of the dead soldier and his wounded colleague.”

In accordance with ISAF policy, ISAF does not release a casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
