ISAF soldier dies of wounds

KABUL, Afghanistan –One ISAF soldier was killed during a patrol today in eastern Afghanistan.

The unit took small-arms fire during a dismounted patrol when one ISAF soldier was wounded and immediately evacuated to a nearby medical treatment facility where the soldier later died of wounds. 

“Our thoughts during this very difficult time are with the friends, family and colleagues of the soldier who was killed in this incident,” said Maj. Charles Anthony, ISAF spokesperson.

In accordance with NATO policy, ISAF does not release a casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
