Two ISAF soldiers killed in southern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan – Two ISAF soldiers and an interpreter have been killed during a patrol in southern Afghanistan on Aug. 22. One other soldier and two journalists also suffered injuries in the same incident.

"This puts into context the very real dangers, difficulties and life threatening situations our ISAF troops, media and the interpreters who accompany them, encounter on a daily basis”, said Lt. Col. Bridget Rose, a spokesperson for Regional Command South. “Our thoughts are with the friends and families of those who have died or been injured in this incident”.

In accordance with ISAF policy, ISAF does not release a casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
