1 ISAF soldier killed, 3 injured in vehicle rollover

KABUL, Afghanistan – One ISAF service member died today and three others were injured when the vehicle they were driving rolled over during a combat logistics patrol in eastern Afghanistan.

One service member died at the scene from injuries sustained during the accident and one was medically evacuated to a nearby ISAF treatment facility.  The two other service members were treated for minor injuries on the scene.

There are no indications at this time that the accident was a result of any enemy or insurgent activity.

“Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the soldier who was killed in this accident,” said Lt. Col. Claudia Foss, ISAF spokesperson. “The soldier gave his life to bring about a brighter future for the people of Afghanistan.”

In accordance with NATO policy, ISAF does not release a casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
