1 ISAF soldier killed, 2 wounded in explosion

KABUL, Afghanistan – One ISAF soldier was killed and two were wounded when their convoy was struck by an explosive device July 25 while conducting a routine patrol in southern Afghanistan.

“It is with great regret and sadness that we acknowledge the death of this ISAF soldier,” said Lt. Col. Bridget Rose, Regional Command South spokesperson.  “Our condolences go to his friends, colleagues and family.  Nevertheless, this will not alter our determination to support the Islamic Government of Afghanistan in its task of bringing peace and stability to this area.”

In accordance with NATO policy, ISAF does not release a casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
