ISAF troops bring medical aid to village

KABUL, Afghanistan – Members of an ISAF medical team with the support of the Afghan National Police deployed recently to Arghestan district, Kandahar province, to provide temporary medical assistance to the local populace.

Working alongside with ANP in Khughani village, the medical mission treated 575 local Afghans and 30 policemen.

The medical team conducted the treatment in classrooms of a local school adapted to be medical rooms.  They treated males and females separately and all Muslim cultural traditions were respected.

“The villages were very positive and appreciative of the ISAF medics and their support,” said Maj. John Thomas, ISAF spokesman.

“This is just one example of the continuing care ISAF medical teams are providing Afghan citizens throughout the country,” he added.
