Injured ISAF soldier dies in Netherlands hospital

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan – On July 12, a soldier serving with ISAF died at the Central Military Hospital in Utrecht, the Netherlands, of wounds suffered July 10 in Afghanistan.

The soldier was injured during a suicide attack in Deh Rawod, Oruzgan. He was transported to Holland together with three other soldiers who suffered injuries in the same attack.

“We deeply regret the loss of such a fine young officer, as a result of a cowardly attack,” said Lt. Col. Mike Smith, Regional Command South spokesman.  “He fought for a better Afghanistan and deserves much respect.”
