3 Afghans injured, treated after vehicle accident with ISAF

KHOWST, Afghanistan – Three Afghan civilians sustained minor injuries in Khowst, when their vehicle was struck by a passing ISAF military vehicle during a heavy rainstorm, July 7.

The ISAF convoy transported the injured to a nearby ISAF base where the Afghans were treated and released.

“The heavy rain mixed with hail made for very dangerous road conditions,” said an ISAF official. “We were able to respond quickly and provide aid despite the inclement weather.”

At about 4:50 p.m. an ISAF vehicle, traveling in a convoy, hit a passenger van.  The ISAF convoy commander assessed the accident scene and requested medical personnel to treat the injured.

There were no injuries to ISAF personnel.
