French conduct community outreach projects

KABUL, Afghanistan – A French civil-military cooperation team recently completed several projects to improve Afghan lives during Operation Shukran.

On June 29, the French battle group arrived in Qala Eh Ye Mirza, Farzeh district.  With the help of the CIMIC team, the soldiers helped lay cornerstones of a girls school and a veterinary clinic.  The girls school will accommodate 600 students when complete.  Both facilities are scheduled to open in August.

In addition, the French donated furniture and supplies to a local boys school.

Later on June 30, French doctors conducted a medical visit to Zemmah village, Kalakan district.  The doctors treated patients for a variety of problems, such as stomach ailments, and eye and vision problems.  They also provided medical care to children and babies, and offered needed medicines to patients.
