ISAF provides medical care to injured child

KABUL, Afghanistan – ISAF responded with medical care to an Afghan child injured in a road traffic accident July 4 in Herat city.

A civilian Afghan truck hit a child around 11 a.m. and braked suddenly.  A following ISAF convoy could not avoid rear-ending the civilian Afghan truck, but this did not cause any further injuries to the already-injured child.

An ISAF patrol took the critically injured child to a local ISAF medical facility where the child is currently receiving treatment.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to the child and his family,” said Brig. Gen. Antonio Satta, Regional Command West commander.  “Our military medical personnel are doing their best in helping to provide the best medical treatment that we can.  Let us hope for the best for this child.”
