ISAF soldier dies in southern Afghanistan

KABUL, Afghanistan – One ISAF soldier died and several others were wounded today in southern Afghanistan after a strike by Taliban extremists, followed by a suspected suicide attack.

“Our hearts are with the soldier’s family and members of his unit.  We will never forget the sacrifice he made to help improve life for the Afghan people,” said Lt. Col. Maria Carl, ISAF spokesperson.

In accordance with NATO policy, ISAF does not release a casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
