3 ISAF soldiers killed in explosion

KABUL, Afghanistan – Three ISAF members were killed today in southern Afghanistan when the vehicle they were traveling in was struck by an improvised explosive device.

No civilians were injured in this incident.

“ISAF is saddened by the deaths of these fine individuals,” said Lt. Col. Maria Carl, ISAF spokesperson.  “Our thoughts are with their family and friends.

“Through their service they contributed to ensuring a safe and prosperous future for Afghanistan,” she added.

In accordance with NATO policy, ISAF does not release the nationality of any casualties prior to the relevant national authorities doing so.
