ISAF soldier killed in southern Afghanistan

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan – An ISAF soldier was killed in an explosion today in Regional Command South.  Another ISAF soldier and their interpreter were also injured in the incident and are receiving medical treatment at a nearby ISAF medical facility.

Lt Col Mike Smith, the spokesman for Regional Command South said, "The tragic death of this soldier is a loss which will be felt across this entire security force. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this difficult time.”

In accordance with ISAF policy, ISAF does not release the casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so.
