ISAF troops help following road accident

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan – Following a vehicle accident involving members of the Afghanistan National Security Forces (ANSF), International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) troops responded to a request for assistance and first aid.  They evacuated the injured to medical facilities located at an ISAF forward operating base.

The accident took place April 18 and involved members of an ANSF patrol operating in northern Helmand, said Lieutenant Colonel Grenier, the Regional Command South spokesperson.  As a result of this accident, one member of the ANSF was killed and eight others suffered what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

“Our hearts are with the soldier’s family, nation and members of their unit,” Colonel Grenier said.  “We will never forget the sacrifices they made to help improve life for the people of Afghanistan.”
