Two ISAF soldiers killed, one injured in IED attack

BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan – Two International Security Assistance Force soldiers were killed and one injured during two separate improvised explosive attacks in eastern Afghanistan, April 12.

The three soldiers were medically evacuated to a treatment facility where two of them were pronounced dead by ISAF medical officials. 

The two ISAF convoys were approximately eight kilometers apart, conducting independent operations in support of the Afghan government, when they were attacked within 30 minutes of each other. 

The names of the deceased are being held pending notification of the next of kin.

The attack is under investigation by both Afghan and ISAF officials.
