ISAF soldiers killed in Southern Afghanistan

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan – Six ISAF soldiers died today in Southern Afghanistan as a result of injuries sustained when the vehicle they were traveling in hit an explosive device. One other ISAF soldier has been injured and is receiving medical attention at an ISAF medical facility.

One ISAF vehicle was damaged due to the explosion; no local civilians were injured in this incident. In accordance with NATO policy, ISAF does not release the casualty’s nationality prior to the relevant national authority doing so.

“Our hearts are with the soldiers’ family, their nation and members of their unit. We will never forget the sacrifices made to help improve the life for the Afghan people,” stated Major General Ton van Loon, Commander, Regional Command South.
