ISAF forces purchase school supplies for girls’ school

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan – ISAF’s U.S. 207th Brigade recently designated more than US$3,000 for the purchase of much needed school supplies to supplement a Kandahar City girls technical trade school.

The purchase included 4,000 pens, 2,000 pencils, 1,000 pencil sharpeners, 1,000 plastic rulers, 1,000 rubber erasers, 2,000 notebooks, and several sewing machines. The supplies were recently delivered to the school by a local contractor.

“Any time we can make such a donation to an educational institution, particularly one that caters to the needs of girls is a worthy cause and easy to support,” stated Colonel Stephen Williams, Commander, U.S. 207th Brigade.

“Providing the right tools for education with a final goal to help enhance the technical skills of youth in Afghanistan is the key to the future in Afghanistan,” added Colonel Williams.
