French families rallied for Surobi population

KABUL, Afghanistan – As part of Operation Oqab Magnet, French CIMIC teams from ISAF Regional Command - Capital continued to support the Surobi population with donations of clothes, medical supplies and sports equipment for schools late last week.

The battle group contacted their families and friends in France and asked them to support the Afghan people.  They also contacted French families living in villages in Germany, in particular, Mannbach, Irsch, Saarburg, Ockfen, Trier, Trassen and Wittlich, and asked for their help, too. The donations of medical supplies and clothes were delivered to Hosenkheyl and Mirza Khanokalai villages.

The mixed school in Hosenkheyl received 50 academic study kits and a volleyball kit from the CIMIC team, in the hope that the young girls in the  village will be encouraged to attend school. The tribes in Hosenkheyl and Sahoc also received clothes for the families.

Operation Oqab Magnet is extending peace in the Surobi area with the reinforcement of CIMIC teams.
