Kandahar City students are busy studying for exams

KANADHAR, Afghanistan - With Nawruz (Islamic New Year) approaching, Afghan students in Southern Afghanistan are busy studying for their exams.

ISAF Regional Command South soldiers work closely with local schools within their area of operations often providing donations sent to them by their families and friends back home.

“Despite attempts by Taliban extremists to discourage progress, it is encouraging to see such dedication by local students towards their studies and I want to wish them luck on their exams.

Education is the key to economic development and stabilization for Afghanistan and I am encouraged to see this effort,” stated Major General Ton van Loon, Commander – ISAF Regional Command South.
