Accident near Taloqan City

KUNDUZ PROVINCE, Afghanistan – Yesterday, at approximately 11.00 a.m., an ISAF patrol was involved in an accident southeast of Taloqan City, Kunduz province. The patrol was travelling on the road to Keshem when a woman suddenly and unexpectedly stepped out in front of one of the vehicles. The driver was unable to stop his car in time and the woman was hit and badly injured.

The convoy stopped immediately and a German medical team travelling with the convoy gave the woman first-aid. She was transported to Taloqan hospital by the convoy’s ambulance. She is currently being treated in the Provincial Hospital Taloqan by ISAF medical staff and is reported to be in a stable condition.

Afghan Police and PRT Kunduz forces are investigating this incident.
