Twelve civilians, 2 ANA wounded by enemy fire

BAGRAM AIR BASE, Afghanistan - Twelve Afghan civilians and two members of the Afghan National Army (ANA) were wounded by enemy indirect fire today at an ISAF outpost in the Pech district, Kunar province.

A mortar round landed where the 14 people live on the base.

ISAF Forces immediately responded by providing medical assistance. All were treated at nearby ISAF medical facilities.

"Through their indiscriminant actions, extremists have once again injured innocent civilians," said Col Tom Collins, ISAF spokesperson. "ISAF will continue to work with the ANA to bring security and stability to all the people of Afghanistan."
