Joint ISAF, ANA training in RC-C

KABUL, Afghanistan – Yesterday saw the conclusion of a 2-week training programme between personnel from the Afghan National Army (ANA) and Regional Command-Capital’s French Battle Group. The main effort of the training was to strengthen the security in Darulaman, on the outskirts of Kabul.

Throughout the course, ISAF and ANA platoons of around 30 personnel paired up to carry out security procedures, including vehicle checks, personnel and vehicle searches and setting up checkpoints. During daily briefings, experiences of operations were shared by ISAF and ANA personnel. “This has led to a greater level of dialogue and has created a good working relationship between the troops,” said Flt Lt Sarah Meleady, an ISAF spokeswoman.

“This exercise will benefit both ISAF and ANA in the future, whilst conducting joint operations for the benefit of the Afghan people in and around Kabul,” she said.
