ISAF forces deliver medical assistance to the village of Morgan Kecha

KANDAHAR, Afghanistan – On Friday ISAF forces from Regional Command-South conducted a village medical outreach (VMO) in the village of Morgan Kecha, Kandahar province.

ISAF officials met with local elders in the village to discuss the distribution of humanitarian assistance provided by the Civil Military Cooperation (CIMIC) team. The food was divided up among the 8 mosques within the village. Each mullah received a portion of the food to then distribute to those families most in need of assistance.

An Afghan National Army doctor was present and provided medical care for approximately 80 villagers, including several elderly men and women, as well as young children. The children were given vitamins, toothpaste and brushes, while analgesics, antibiotics and diarrhoeal medication were dispensed to the adults.

This VMO marks the first visit of ISAF forces to the village of Morgan Kecha.
