ANAP graduates 76 new recruits

BAGRAM AIRFIELD, Afghanistan – The Afghan National Auxiliary Police (ANAP) welcomed 76 new recruits Wednesday during a graduation ceremony in Ghazni province, which was supported by ISAF’s Ghazni Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT).

The provincial governor, Miraj Patan, delivered a keynote address that highlighted the honour and courage of the new recruits.

Also in attendance at the graduation ceremony were five district chiefs of police, representing the Rashida, Deh Yak, Ghazni City, Nawur and Khwaja Omarie districts. The graduates will now go to work in each of these districts.

Following the graduation, the new ANAP members expressed their collective pride in serving their communities and being able to help the ANAP improve regional security.

“This is another positive step in the improved security of Ghazni province. It shows how much these men of honour believe in the future of their province and in the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan,” said Lt. Col. Paul Fitzpatrick, spokesman for Regional Command-East.
