ISAF holds workshop to repair village’s motorcycles, water pump

KABUL, Afghanistan – ISAF soldiers from the 3rd Squadron Royal Air Force regiment, based at Kandahar Airfield, set up a mechanical engineering workshop in Morghan Kechah village in Kandahar province on 15 May.

This activity aimed at providing some expert mechanical advice and training in repairing motorcycles and water pumps. The village is indeed highly dependent upon motorcycles due to its remote location and the poor condition of the roads. Twelve motorcycles and several bicycles were serviced and repaired during the workshop and many maintenance tips were passed onto the villagers.

Furthermore, a vital portable generator, which had been broken for several months, was also fully repaired to allow the village fresh water and working irrigation pumps.

This action of ISAF, along with similar actions by the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, is aimed at making a positive difference for Afghanistan.
