"Bridge over the Sava River"

Near Nupanja, Croatia the 1st Armored Division, overcoming several obstacles, builds a pontoon bridge over the Sava River for thousands of Implementation Force (IFOR) troops and hundreds of heavy vehicles to cross into Bosnia. A greater number of the 20,000 American troops will use pontoon bridges to enter Bosnia in support of Operation Joint Endeavor.
However, soldiers have waited for two and a half weeks on the riverbanks dealing with the swelling Sava and the harsh Balkan Winter. The 1st Armored Division slowed by the deep mud, flu, and losing tents and vehicles under water has managed quite well. The biggest delay was due to the Armored Division having to build a bridge where it was land only two weeks.
