Force Command Madrid Commander visits STEADFAST JUNCTURE Headquarters in Estonia
Invited for Steadfast Juncture Exercise Distinguish Visitor Day, Force Command Madrid Commander LTG Alfredo Cardona, visited the SFJE ‘s Joint Task Force Headquarters at Amari Air Base, Estonia, Nov 5th 2012.
As the 70 civilian and military guests, including the President of Estonia, Toomas Hendrik, Allied Joint Force Command Naples Commander, Admiral Bruce W. Clingan, Estonian Chief of Defence, Brigadier General Riho Terras, LTG A. Cardona received a ‘behind the scenes’ overview of the exercise and met with both training audience and the exercise control staff.
FCMD’s Commander had also the chance to meet a few members from Force Command Madrid as well as French Army Major General Joel Rivault, Chief of Staff of DJSE1 in Madrid training as Deputy Commander or Spanish Army LTC Manuel Gordo his spokesperson in Spain, involved in the Civilian and Military Cooperation Cell (CIMIC) for the exercise.
The overarching goal of exercise STEADFAST JUNCTURE is to develop command and control interoperability between NATO forces. It also aims to train and assess NATO Allied Joint Force Command (JFC) Naples Headquarters ability to command and control NATO Response Force (NRF) 2013 in a complex environment.
