NATO multimedia exhibition opens
in Bucharest
NATO Deputy Secretary General, Ambassador Claudio Bisogniero, and the Romanian Minister of Defence, Teodor Melescanu, inaugurated the NATO multimedia exhibition entitled “Securing our Future” at the National History Museum of Romania in Bucharest on the evening of 17 March 2008.
The dignitaries were joined at the opening by NATO Assistant Secretary General for Public Diplomacy, Jean-Francois Bureau, the Romanian National Security Advisor, Stejarel Olaru, and the Director of the National Museum of History of Romania, Crisan Museteanu.
Responding to security threats
Created by NATO's Public Diplomacy Division (PDD), the exhibition highlights NATO’s role in responding to existing and emerging security challenges. Using a mix of interactive video, photographic and print media, it illustrates the Alliance’s current operations, capabilities and partnerships.
The NATO multimedia exhibition will remain open to the public for two weeks in the National History Museum of Romania and will thereafter be moved and displayed during the upcoming Summit on 2-4 April. An additional module detailing NATO’s role in defence against terrorism will be on display uniquely at the Summit.
