NATO Secretary General and the EU High Representative discuss Kosovo and Afghanistan

NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer and EU High Representative for the Common Foreign and Security Policy, Javier Solana, met bilaterally to discuss Kosovo and Afghanistan on Monday, 25 February 2008.
NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer reiterated that KFOR, the NATO-led force in Kosovo, will continue to secure and protect all citizens, in accordance with UNSCR 1244.
They also discussed the situation in Afghanistan, where the European Union’s Police Mission (EUPOL Afghanistan) is helping to train the Afghan National Police.
Following the bilateral meeting, the North Atlantic Council (NAC) and the Political and Security Committee (PSC) of the European Union (EU) met to discuss the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, including the evolution of the EUFOR mission.
