Film highlights NATO’s assistance
to training of Afghan forces

NATO’s Public Diplomacy Division has launched a new video, which outlines some efforts of the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) to support the Afghan National Army (ANA) and Afghan National Police (ANP), including the country’s new Border and Airport Police.

Providing direct assistance to the ANA and ANP is one of ISAF’s key tasks. Through mentoring, training and equipment support, NATO is helping to strengthen the Afghan government’s efforts to provide stability and security throughout the country.

The Afghan National Army currently stands at 35 000 men, and is a truly national institution, with soldiers from every major ethnic group.  Having effective security forces is critical for Afghanistan’s stability and independence.

The video is available for viewing and distribution in both low- and high-resolution versions. For professional and educational use, DVD, HDV, MiniDV, Betacam, raw footage, English and international versions (with transcripts) are available on request from medlib@hq.nato.int.
