To honour victims of terrorist attacks, flags at NATO Headquarters flew at half-mast on 11 September 2007.
The NATO flag and the flags of the Alliance’s 26 member countries were lowered in commemoration of all the victims of terrorist attacks around the world.
"Lowering the flags at NATO HQ is a way of paying our respects to all victims of terrorist attacks across the world," said NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer. "The Alliance will remain steadfast in its focus on combatting the scourge of terrorism, Allied and Partner solidarity in this task is as strong as ever."
