NATO Secretary General and President Bush hold talks
The President and Mrs Laura Bush invited NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer and Mrs Jeannine de Hoop Scheffer to their ranch in Crawford, Texas, from 20 to 21 May.

The Secretary General and President Bush had a working meeting with Secretaries Rice and Gates.
The discussions focused on Afghanistan, welcoming the success achieved until now, and the steps necessary to build on that success through 2007 and beyond.
They also discussed relations between Russia and the West; both leaders committed to working to clear away misconceptions in this important partnership.
They stressed the importance of a UN resolution on Kosovo based on the Ahtisaari package. And they looked forward to the 2008 Summit in Bucharest, noting that countries aspiring to NATO membership need to continue their reform processes.
