On 24 October, the Army, with the support of ISAF, took possession of 55 kilograms of opium at a checkpoint inspection in Farah City. Earlier, Afghan Police and ISAF forces seized 9.2 metric tons of hashish at another checking point on Highway 1, near Qalat. The drugs were confiscated and drivers and passengers taken into custody. Since April, more than 13.5 tons of narcotics have been confiscated by the Afghan National Police.
